The Story behind the Shot
“On one of my rare days off while working in Dhaalu Atoll, Maldives, I grabbed my camera and decided to go for a fun dive on one of the local reefs around Maaenboodhoo: this area was known for having a lot of life and pretty corals. As soon as I descended on the reef I spotted this big Hawksbill Turtle munching on a sponge and decided to get close to her: she immediately gained interest in the dome and was trying to munch on it! Once she realised my housing was not edible, she went back on the reef and literally posed for me in every posing you can imagine, for 29 minutes.”
